About the Journal

Review of Comparative and International Education (RCIE) is an international peer-reviewed journal sponsored by the Association for the Advancement of Interdisciplinary Educational Studies (AAIDES) that explores educational systems, policies, and practices across global contexts through comparative and international perspectives. The journal particularly welcomes research from emerging economies, cross-regional studies, and innovative investigations of educational transformation in diverse cultural and socio-economic contexts.

RCIE publishes both explicitly comparative research—including cross-national studies comparing educational phenomena across multiple countries—and implicitly comparative research, meaning contextualized case studies that contribute to broader comparative frameworks. The journal emphasizes mixed-methods and innovative research designs that examine contemporary challenges including digital transformation in education, migration and refugee education, educational equity across cultures, and the impact of globalization on local educational practices.

The journal serves researchers, policymakers, and practitioners across all educational levels, incorporating perspectives from education, sociology, anthropology, political science, and international development. RCIE encourages submissions that bridge theory and practice, demonstrating how cross-cultural educational insights can inform policy development and pedagogical innovation, particularly in rapidly changing educational landscapes.

RCIE is published twice a year as an open-access journal with rigorous double-blind peer review. The journal accepts original research articles, systematic reviews, theoretical analyses, and policy studies that advance knowledge in comparative and international education, ensuring widespread dissemination of cutting-edge research to the global educational community.

RCIE is currently finalizing its editorial board structure. The journal will begin accepting manuscript submissions once this process is completed.
